We
look forward to meeting you on your first visit to our office.
During this time, we will help you get acquainted with our office
and learn about your orthodontic treatment. Each patient has different
needs, and each patient’s treatment is tailored to meet
those needs. At your initial visit will take photographs and a
panoramic x-ray, in order to give the doctor the some important
information regarding treatment. The doctor will review the x-ray
with you, and do an exam. The doctor will then discuss potential
treatment options with you and answer any questions you may have.
Sometimes, especially on younger children, the doctor may determine
that treatment is not yet indicated. In this case, we will monitor
the patient, usually at three to six month intervals, watching
growth and development, in order to choose the optimum time to
begin orthodontic treatment. The initial orthodontic visit is
complimentary, as are the follow-up visits to check growth and
development.

Some examples of Ceph tracing.
If at your initial visit, the doctor feels that it is an appropriate
time to begin treatment; your potential treatment options will
be discussed. If you elect to begin treatment, the next step will
consist of us taking records. Records will consist of an additional
x-ray, and diagnostic study models. We allow enough time at the
initial visit, that if you choose to proceed with records it can
be done at the same visit.
Approximately two weeks after records are taken, which allows
time for the doctor to review and evaluate them, we will conduct
a treatment consultation. At this consultation, we will explain
in detail all aspects of your treatment. We will explain the nature
of the problem, outline treatment goals, discuss office policies,
and will review fees and payment options. We will answer any questions
you or your child have regarding treatment, and encourage you
to ask them. |
