Red, White and Blue

The Red, White and Blue appliances offer a solution to those adults who are just outside the normal range of other removable tooth aligning appliances, such as Hawley or Spring type Retainers. Patients who want the simplest aesthetic system possible to correct minor to intermediate anterior tooth mal-alignments. In addition to being aesthetically pleasing, these appliances will not affect the patient’s speech and are very cost effective.

The system consists of One, Two or Three invisible active appliances. Each appliance expresses progressive correction, and in some situations over correction of selected anterior teeth. The appliances are fabricated from AOA’s exclusive clear, flexible and extremely durable DuraClear material.

RW II/Two Appliance System

The RW II – two appliance system, incorporates the AOA exclusive DuraClear material of the Red, White and Blue system with a soft, flexible and elastic inner liner, DuraLiner. This dynamic combination of the DuraClear and DuraLiner materials allows for more tooth correction per appliance than with the traditional Red, White and Blue system. The DuraLiner material adds lighter forces in moving the teeth, increases retention and is more comfortable for the patient.

Interproximal reduction, (stripping) should always be considered in arches with crowded or overlapping incisors. Arches with existing space(s) may require excessive space to be consolidated for future restorative consideration. In certain situations where arch width requires expansion, the Red, White and Blue Freedom slow expansion appliances may be considered as “phase one” treatment appliances.

Remember the unique durability of our material means the final appliance you dispense can act as the patient’s long-term Retainer. An additional alternative is a fourth appliance for long term retention called the Blue 2.
